How We Work

The Scout Network in North Yorkshire will be run by the members for the members. Organising, Planning and running of events/activities are the responsibility of the members. The age range for members is from 17.5 years old up to the 25th Birthday.

The Network will be split into local Networks, which will mimic the Scout Districts. If required some Networks will bridge two or more Districts depending upon the local needs of the members.

Each Local Network will have a Coordinator and Exec (group of people) to manage the Network.

A few Network Leaders will be appointed to help and mentor members in a number of Local Networks in an area.

The Coordinators will make up the Network Committee to start with and will manage the County Network.

Once a year the whole Network will meet together at the County Network Conference, when decisions will be made by those attending, as to what we will be doing in the coming year, electing Committee members etc.

The Network Administrator is responsible for the membership database etc.

The role of the County Scout Network Commissioner is to manage and be responsible for it.

Contact and information will be maintained with any member of the Association in the Network age range to keep them aware of what is happening and so give them the option to join in as and when they can. Information will also be given to Explorer Scouts 17+ so they are aware of what the Network is doing.
